Fuel Processing Technologies - Project
Predict syngas composition at the outlet of a reactor assuming equilibrium conditions. Verify the effect
of operating conditions and gasifying agent composition on syngas composition, lower heating value
(LHV) and carbon conversion. In each case, the ratio of number of moles of the gasifying agent and the
fuel (???/??, mol/mol) should be changed for a given set of additional parameters specified in the tables
below. Present the results of subsequent cases as plots of mole fractions of major product species {C
(solid phase), CO, H2, CH4, CO2, H2O, N2, O2} (if adequate), LHV (gaseous phase - in a separate figure,
expressed per kmol), temperature (for the adiabatic cases) and cold and hot gas efficiency. The
computations should be done using Cantera and data pre and post processing in Python, respectively.
The results should be collected in a report composed of:
- Short introduction
- Specification of the conditions
- Presentation and discussion of the results
- Conclusions
- References (if any)
- Listing of the Python scripts used to perform the computations
The report and the scripts should be delivered (in electronic version) until January 20, 2022
