WHO WE ARE
dotExpat is a brand name to cover the activity of editing and managing a series of websites with world-based contents, including www.EasyExpat.com, www.BlogExpat.com and www.Expat-Quotes.com
OUR PROFILE SEARCH:
We are looking for an editor with training as a journalist and web content editor. The person should be able to demonstrate some experience on article writing for blogs and magazine on international topics, in various areas including political, health, education, finance... etc.
The person must also be able to promote the article on social networks and animate our forum.
We will consider primarily people with:
- Fluent English (mother tongue or professional writing)
- A second language (Italian, Spanish or German) / able to do things in French is a plus.
- Located in Europe OR North America OR Asia (Japan, China, Singapore, South Corea)
- Willing to write about 1 article per week initially (however in the future it might change depending on the quality of the work, the availability, the number of editors we work with)
- Available for Video meetings
YOUR ROLE
You will write articles for our expat magazine to be published in the magazine section of easyexpat.com:
https://www.easyexpat.com/en/mag.htm
Those articles might be translated in other languages to be published on the platform too.
All articles must:
• BE ORIGINAL AND WRITTEN FOR OUR EXPAT WEBSITES.
• Be with high quality content (journalist type).
• Topics will focus on current events that may impact expats from around the world, or insights into lifestyles and things that may be of interest to people living abroad.
You should be able to demonstrate your confidence and quality of writing (with existing publishing).
We attach a document with more details on the task with the project description.
- INITIAL PRICE PER ARTICLE: £10 for the first 2 articles, then £15 or more depending on skills
ABOUT YOU:
- You have an expat experience or are familiar with international topics, travelling and moving abroad.
- You are familiar with Internet research and can easily find information on the latest topics that may interest expatriates, travellers and people living abroad.
- You are very well organised (having worked remotely for similar media is an advantage).
- You can suggest great ideas for topics.
- You are available for an initial video-call in order to kick-off the project (so we discuss the subject and requirement).
- You can register as a member of our services (https://www.easyexpat.com/forums/register/) as specified in the documentation and you are willing to participate to discussion with our community.
- All articles will be credited with your name (and profile).
NOTE:
We are selecting people either with international background, area of interest in travel, expatriation and living abroad, journalism skills or experience in the field, and willing to participate and interact with our community online following articles they might write.
