Digital Poster Creation for Facilitation Technique
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
The facilitation technique digital poster showcase requires students to create a digital poster to showcase their research on a specific facilitation technique topic. The student group (2-3 students) will select a topic, research it using scholarly sources and produce a research poster including an application piece that is informative, concise, information rich, structured and creative.
Student digital posters simulate those found at a professional conference where recreation therapists and other health care professionals meet to present, learn, and discuss new ideas and practices developed through research. The poster developers are required to be present alongside their poster to answer questions, engage in discussion, and receive feedback from those who come to see them. This presents a great opportunity for peers, your instructors, and other attendees to ask you questions about your work and use it for their own professional practice. During this time, you will be evaluated on your research poster and practical application. Attendance is mandatory. Each presentation will be ten (10) minutes in length
Formatting your poster:
You will use an infographic tool (Canva) to create your digital poster – An infographic is a visual representation of knowledge, information, or data.

• DCC Presentation Poster Template (2560 x 1440 px) - for in-person presentations in the Digital Creativity Centre (DCC)
• Once the students choose a topic and do their research, the DCC offers appointment bookings (either virtual or on campus) to support each group in getting their poster started with the correct sizing, and shared access for collaboration.
Content to be included in poster:
Each poster will be designed using creative formatting including quality images (1) and graphs (1)
1. Heading: Mohawk college logo, Facilitation Technique, students presenting (full names)
2. Purpose: what is the purpose of your poster related to Recreation Therapy practice
3. Overview of Facilitation Technique – introduce the audience to the facilitation techniqDescription/definition of the facilitation technique

4. Research: research four (4) articles, related to your facilitation technique and Recreation Therapy. Provide a review of each article separately use the following headings: Research title: Summary, Findings. Articles from 2010 forward
IMPORTANT:
During the presentations, facilitators will offer a high-level overview of the research findings, emphasizing key and relevant information. This will be a summary of the findings from all four articles; individual articles will not be reviewed separately.

5. Resources: Training opportunities, resources, websites, government publications, program materials, and adaptive aids should all be relevant to TR practice. The poster must include a QR code, and hard copies of the resources can be made available. During the presentation, please review the resources in detail.
6. Practical Component: This component will demonstrate the application of your facilitation technique to your audience. The practical component will provide a professional, polished experience that showcases the benefits of the facilitation technique you are presenting in a practical manner. Creativity is encouraged.
7. References (QR code must be used). (Word copy must be submitted in Assignment folder in Canvas)
Digital Poster Presentation Venue: Students will present their posters in the DCC (Digital Creativity Centre). Each poster station will have a large screen television to showcase their poster as well as a small table to support resources/equipment/supplies
Presentations: each group will be evaluated on their ability to address the public in a professional manner, groups must be engaged in discussion and be knowledgeable, and clearly articulate content on the poster. Presentations will be 10 minutes in length on a rotating basis. Presentation day: You must arrive to the DCC 30 minutes before your presentation time to load your posters and you must bring a laptop with poster loaded.
