Deerfield Psychiatry Clinic Journalist/Writer

We are a long-established psychiatry clinic in Deerfield, IL (60015),
currently undergoing a significant expansion of our facility and
specialized services. We are looking for an experienced local
journalist or feature writer to help us document this growth and
educate the community through a compelling, ongoing 6-to-12-month
article series.

This is a unique role that blends traditional investigative reporting
with modern digital marketing. You will be the "voice" of our clinic,
humanizing our medical staff and translating complex psychiatric
treatments into empathetic, community-focused stories.

The Project Roadmap

Months 1–6: Focus on our "Legacy & Innovation" series—documenting our
history, the expansion of our physical space, and deep dives into new
service offerings.

Months 7–12: Pivot to "Community Wellness & Outcomes"—focusing on
educational pieces, anonymized "journey to healing" stories, and
seasonal mental health advice.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Interviews: Visit our Deerfield clinic to interview clinicians
and leadership (adhering to all HIPAA and privacy protocols).

Long-Form Features: Write one high-quality, 800–1,200 word "pillar"
article per month.

Multichannel Repurposing:

Google Business Profile (GBP): Condense each article into a punchy,
SEO-optimized "Update" post to drive local traffic.

Mailchimp Integration: Craft a monthly newsletter around the feature
story to engage our existing patient base and community partners.

Local Media Liaison: Assist in pitching these stories to NorthShore
publications for earned media coverage.

The Ideal Candidate:

Location: Must be based in Lake County or the North Shore (Deerfield,
Highland Park, Northbrook, etc.) for on-site presence.

Experience: Proven track record in journalism or high-level
health/medical writing. You must know how to interview medical
professionals effectively.

Marketing Savvy: Familiarity with Mailchimp and Google Business
Profile (or a quick learner who understands how to adapt tone for
different platforms).

Discretion: A deep understanding of the sensitivity required when
writing about mental health.
