We are looking for someone who can quickly write short reports on breaking news from listed US companies, quarterly earnings announcements, M&A, CEO changes, etc.
You will complement our current breaking news reporter, who is based in the UK. This person will write articles for US companies announcing early in the day, and you will report on news from companies coming out later in the day.
The breaking news report should be concise and only about 300-500 words long. Your reports on earnings announcements should include key points from the company's press release, important additional remarks from the conference call, and a short update on the share price development. The focus should be on news items of importance to the underlying, long-term value of the company.
Please note: You cannot copy any content from other news outlets. Instead, you must always generate the news from primary sources, usually published by the company itself.
Your reporting must be completely factual based on the available information. There is no room for your personal opinions. Your formulations must always align with our Editorial Mission:

You must include the links to your sources at the end of the report. In addition, you must ensure that the content in your report complies with the copyright restrictions of your sources.
Typically, we need to receive your report within one hour of the news breaking. Faster is better, but high quality is a must. The first 10 reports will typically take significantly more time as you learn how to report to LFN standards.
We will pay $25 per news report that is converted into an LFN article. The project is initially set to 10 reports at $250, but for a high-performance candidate, the project will be extended with an ongoing series of 10-report milestones. We may also at some point hire you in our UK company.
Please note: We do not pay for reports that do not have sufficient quality to be converted into a published LFN article.
Initially, we expect to require 5-10 reports each working week.
LFN will edit your news report into a final article posted in the name of Liberty Financial News on our website. The published article may materially differ from your initial news report provided to us. The published article will not be associated with you personally.
Furthermore, LFN will retain full ownership of the report and all associated data once published. This means that you cannot submit content you have published anywhere else and cannot use the provided content for publications anywhere else in the future, i.e. LFN retains full exclusivity.
Importantly, you must ensure that your work cannot be considered plagiarism and does not include false statements of facts. If your reports are found to include false statements of facts or content breaching third-party copyrights, you agree to refund LFN the payment for such reports, and we will remove such content from our website immediately.
You must submit your news report in an MS Word file. The report must include a headline of a maximum of 7 words and an excerpt of a maximum 25 words. The body text must be well-presented with suitable sub-headlines and paragraphs.
You must be intrinsically interested in financial reporting and business in general.
Before submitting a news report, you must check the text thoroughly in Grammarly Premium. Settings should be for knowledgeable readers. LFN checks all submitted reports in Grammarly Premium, and a breaking news report will only be accepted and paid for if the overall score is at least 90%.
Communication will primarily be by email.
