We are in 2008, the year of the financial crush. The two lives of the man and the woman meet in a strange way and connect slowly, through many steps of personal transformation and deeper knowledge of their identity.
It’s a two part novel. The first part is about the man, jack, a CEO in walll street who looses his job during the crisis of 2008. This situation exposes him to his frailty and he stray trying to understand who he is. The second part is about a woman, a journalist, who finds out to be jewish through an old recipe book. Her mother is from Hungary , a Holocaust survivor and she hid her identity to her daughter. Jack and Rachel fall in love after meeting at a supper by a rabbi
