Vibrant Illustrator Needed for Children's Book
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am a student looking to hire an illustrator for a children's book. The illustrator would design the cover art for the book, as well as all of its illustrations. The book is approximately 30-33 pages long and follows the story of a fifth-grade student and his class as they host an international potluck. The main character, Daniel, struggles as he worries whether the rest of his class will appreciate his Jewish food or if he will experience judgment. After getting advice and a historical anecdote from his grandmother, he experiences the courage to share his culture with the rest of his class. The book closes with a diverse set of students sharing dishes from various cultural backgrounds and ethnicities.
I would like for the illustrator to take their own stylistic initiative in creating designs for the characters/world of the book; however, I would like to be a part of the conversation as we build a relationship of communication outright. The book will be created digitally, but copies will be printed physically. I would like to receive a digital PDF of each illustrated page once created throughout the process. The illustrator would be paid a fixed price of 375$.
