Francis Bacon-Style Pencil Portrait

Job ID: 39900806

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I want to commission a pencil portrait of my partner—who is a mathematician—that channels the raw, deconstructed energy of Francis Bacon while visually hinting at the instability of mathematical uncertainty. I want the piece to reflect the idea that while math offers control and structure, life's beauty often lies in what cant be solved. think of the contrast between precision and distortion, clarity and feeling.

Scope
• Medium: pencil on quality paper, finished size somewhere between A3 and A2.
• Mood: dynamic, chaotic, and emotionally charged rather than calm or formally posed. (maybe? I dont know if this would make sense given my topic)
• Concept: the face and figure should feel partially fragmented or distorted in true Bacon fashion, while faint mathematical symbols, formula traces, or graph-like marks weave through the composition to suggest order slipping into chaos.

Process
1. Rough thumbnails so I can choose the strongest composition.
2. A more detailed sketch for approval, highlighting where the mathematical elements sit.
3. The final rendered piece, fully shaded and textured, delivered as:
– the physical artwork, safely packaged, and
– a high-resolution scan (300 dpi or higher) for archival purposes.

I’m happy to provide reference photos of my partner and examples of the specific Bacon works that inspire me. Progress shots at each stage would help ensure we stay aligned. Let me know your estimated timeline and any materials you prefer so we can get started.
