I need a working Ubuntu Desktop virtual machine running smoothly on my Surface Pro 11, which is running Windows 11 on ARM. The host already has VirtualBox available; what’s missing is a guest OS that boots without errors, recognises hardware correctly, and resizes the display cleanly.
Scope
• Pick any Ubuntu Desktop release that is fully compatible with the ARM-based host and stable in VirtualBox.
• Create the VM, apply optimal settings (chipset, EFI, graphics memory, CPU/RAM allocation, network, audio).
• Install Guest Additions so that dynamic resolution, shared clipboard, and folder sharing all work.
• Confirm internet access inside the guest and that common peripherals (touchscreen, keyboard cover, Bluetooth mouse) function as expected.
Deliverable
A ready-to-use .vbox / .vdi (or clear written steps if remote setup is required) plus a short note explaining key settings so I can reproduce or tweak the VM later.
