help me make arduino/adafruit wave shield work

I need help getting an adafruit wave shield to work with the daphc sketch. The serial monitor keeps showing errors in the sd card (I've tested it with multiple sd cards). it plays some files but shows others as fragmented. Sometimes it says no partition detected. I've formatted it in several ways and am at a loss to figure out how to make it play all the audio files.
