Uart bridge between 2 arduino mega

Since previous Developer is suddenly unresponsive, i have to hire a freelancer to do a pretty simple job.
A user interface has been made on one Mega with a credit interface, i need someone to finish his work.
A total of 28 sales buttons was made, when each of these buttons is pressed (and there is sufficient credit), a signal must be sent from 1 mega to another mega via UART, activating a relay.
The structure of the communication between the boards should be quite simple, im thinking it as follows "relay_numer;pulse_duration;pulse_amount" so e.g. if btm 1 is pressed following message would be sent "1;10000;1 "meaning relay1 is active 10000ms 1 time"
Please look at attached firmware, thats the relay boards simple starting point firmware.
Your job will be to add the communication between the 2 megas, so that LCD UI mega sent the signal, and the relay mega receive and activate relay accordingly to the given command.
This job is time critical, so if not able to start straight away, dont bid, thank you!!!
Its a simple project, that can be completed in less than 2 hours, for the right person, given most structure is already made....
