Sports Timing Device for Running using Arduino
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I’m wanting to build a DIY sports timing device for running, based on an Arduino or similar micro controller.
The device will be used by a “track & field” athletics club for training purposes - we have professional timing equipment for competitions – but need something simpler for training.
The device should get input via an impulse signal from external equipment. The times of these inputs should be recorded.
There should be two outputs from the Arduino - one output is a log of all signals received - and the other output is to send the cumulative times to be used by an external scoreboard.
I'm looking for assistance with:
1 - The circuit design and parts required
2 - The arduino code
The attached document has a more detailed description.
