Slamtec Mapper & ROS Project Research
Budget: ₹100 – ₹400 INR
I don't have the bandwidth to do this on my own, therefore I am looking someone who can research on the following keywords "Slamtec Mapper ROS", "Arduino", "raspberry pi", "Slamtec RPLIDAR A1 360 Laser Range Scanner", and find any most up to date repository and test it.
This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EORDFh-jqsQ shows how it should work. In summary, you move the sensor around the space and it maps the environment.
Phases:
1. Research and find the most up to date repository and test it using PC. Test how big the error is and what is the start/end closing gap once we walk one full circle.
2. Export all points to some points file.
3. Convert the setup and use a microcontroller that gathers the data without using a computer. Allow to stop scan and save points to sd card
4. Attach the LCD screen to the setup above and display all points in real time.
5. Improve the system by attaching a wireless module that can connect to a mobile device and allows control/scan from the device.
Notes:
A. In order to work on this project, the freelancer will need all the necessary components, this means that the freelancer will have to purchase the sensor etc. I will not be able to pay upfront for the parts, because there is a great chance that the freelancer abandons the project and is not able to complete it.
B. If the freelancer is interested in this project and can think of a way that he can work using TeamViewer or Anydesk and control test the code etc, then I can help with hooking up the components as directed by the freelancer.
C. Before starting the project we will agree on the max hours that we can spend on each of the phases.
D. Progress payment amounts will be calculated by multiplying your hourly rate with the hours that you have spent on each phase. The progress payment will be released only after the completion of each phase. A phase is considered as completed when I am able to do the same thing on my end as the freelancer on his end. This means that the freelancer will have to help me with installing all the libraries, dependencies on my windows 10 computer. The milestone payment will not be released if for some reason it does not work on my end.
