Hardware suggestions and code for rotary spindle

I would like to design a rotary spindle that can take loads up to 50kg, mounted on bearings and rotate them in a composites oven. Think BBQ bbq rotisserie. It needs to be able to have variable speed from approx 10rpm to 60rpm. It would have a simple LCD with menu to start stop pause, change direction and set RPM. It will use GT2 closed loop belt and 3d printed gears on the driven and driven gears. I am seeking someone to recommend the control board, motors, motor controllers, lcd and complete the software. Arduino with steppers motor and external stepper motor controller comes to mind, but am open to suggestions.
