ESP32-S3 Firmware + PCB Validation (LED + Audio Device – Design Complete)
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I have a completed embedded hardware design and need an experienced developer to finalize firmware and validate the system for production.
This is NOT a new design.
The PCB, schematic, BOM, and pin map are already complete. Your role is to verify, validate, and implement firmware based on the existing design.
Reference image of PCB layout and assembly (for visualization only)126mm circular PCB with 24 WS2812 LEDs (perimeter) and center-mounted speaker. Mixed SMT and through-hole assembly.Device Overview:
ESP32-S3 system
24x WS2812 LEDs (perimeter)
I2S audio (MAX98357A + speaker)
microSD card (WAV playback)
10–28VDC input (handled on board)
Operation:
Runs automatically on power-up
Plays /sound_1.wav → /sound_8.wav continuously
Runs 8 LED patterns continuously
LEDs must continue even if audio/SD fails
Scope of Work:
Hardware Review
Verify GPIO pin mapping (schematic vs firmware vs pin map)
Identify any conflicts or issues
JLCPCB Validation (Required)
Upload Gerber, BOM, CPL to JLCPCB
Run DFM check
Verify LCSC parts availability
Confirm component placement and rotation
Provide screenshots or summary
Firmware Development
ESP32-S3 (Arduino framework required)
Use provided baseline .ino
Implement:
WAV playback via I2S
Continuous file sequencing
Non-blocking LED patterns
Stable, production-ready code
Production Readiness
Confirm BOM compatibility
Flag any risks before manufacturing
Rules (Non-Negotiable):
Do NOT change PCB layout
Do NOT change GPIO assignments
Do NOT modify mechanical design
Report issues before making assumptions
Pin map is authoritative.
Deliverables:
Final Arduino firmware (.ino + source code)
Verified Gerbers, BOM, CPL (JLCPCB-ready)
JLCPCB DFM + parts validation results
Pin verification confirmation
Basic test procedure
Requirements:
Strong ESP32 experience (ESP32-S3 preferred)
WS2812 / LED control experience
I2S audio experience
Familiarity with JLCPCB assembly workflow
To Apply:
Include:
Similar ESP32 / LED / audio projects
Experience with I2S audio
Estimated timeline and cost
Any initial questions
Full design files will be provided after initial review.“Start your proposal with the word ‘HEADSUP’ so I know you read the full description.”
