Design Portable Hybrid Inverter
Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR
I need help designing a portable hybrid inverter using ESP32 and KiCad. The inverter should handle solar, AC grid power and Car DC inputs to charge the battery and
Hi there! I’m working on my dream product: a portable hybrid inverter designed for my travelling purpose, as I'm a traveller.
I’ve outlined the full concept, and now I need help turning it into a complete, functional design package.
What I'm Building:
A suitcase-style portable power system that:
Supports 2 battery variants: Li-ion (18650 or 21700) and LiFePO4 (100Ah)
Inputs: Solar (MPPT), AC (SMPS), Car DC input
Outputs:
AC socket (1000W)
3× USB-A 3.2 ports
2× USB-C PD ports 100 watts
DC barrel jacks with variable voltage
Wireless charging + Bluetooth speaker + 50W light
Smart control using ESP32 (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, android app, display screen)
Enclosure: suitcase/speaker style with handle and wheels
Optional: external battery expansion via XT90 port
I Need Help With:
Complete Hardware Design
Circuit schematic in KiCad (with support for both battery types)
Smart switching between 3 input sources
Battery protection, BMS integration, AC inverter stage
PCB Design
Full layout (KiCad)
Output: Gerber files, BOM
ESP32 Firmware (Arduino IDE or PlatformIO)
Read battery voltage/current and the whole device status
Bluetooth communication with mobile app
Display integration
LED/Buzzer control
3D Enclosure Design
For laser-cut acrylic or 3D-printed shell
Space for all ports, display, cooling, speaker
(Optional) App UI Mockup
For future Bluetooth mobile app
