Automotive OBD Bluetooth Firmware Development
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
The goal of this project to provide control of an entry-level ELM327 OBD reader device using a Bluetooth enabled Arduino platform. The successful project must reliably demonstrate the following:
1. The Arduino serial console will be used to demonstrate the firmware functions.
1. Show search for and pairing with the Bluetooth OBD device.
2. Develop the command syntax to read PIDs and read/clear MIL events. Note; the command sytax is not known, the developer must sleuth this out using tools like ELM OBD Terminal (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chinhlqtb.elm327.obd2.terminal), Wireshark, etc..
3. Demonstrate compatibility with 2 different Bluetooth Modules; BLE5101 (https://www.nicerf.com/bluetooth/ble-module-ble5101-1.html), and JDY-19 (https://myosuploads3.banggood.com/products/20181201/20181201013930JDY-19.pdf).
The Developer will be provided all of the hardware needed for development including:
* Bluetooth OBD modules (2).
* An automotive ECU emulator with a standard OBD diagnostic port (1).
* Arduino Nano Every boards (2). This platform was chosen to allow the external serial port to handle the Bluetooth module while using the onboard USB for the serial console.
* BLE5101 and JDY-19 adapter boards to connect to the Bluetooth OBD device, or use a breadboard.
* Shipping is provided for the EU, Canada, USA, and Central/South America only. If you are located in Asia or a MENA country then you are welcome to bid but you will have to source the needed development materials locally or be responsible for shipping costs as a deduction from your fee. The Bluetooth OBD adapter with the ECU emulator is shown in the photo.
The Developer must have extensive experience with Embedded C. You must be able to submit samples of your work to show us an example of well documented and well written code. You must have the ability to communicate well, and respond to questions within 24 hours. This project will be awarded on the basis of experience and communication ability, not the lowest bidder!
On successful completion of this project you will be first in line for more interesting and important work with our team.
