Arduino programing and automatization prototype, opening to 50 relays not at same time (pulse signal input from other device)

We need programming for lockers opening and input for opening is pulse/impulse signal which Arduino gets from another device. (coin or cash machine) when receiving set value can open the locker from 1-50 by choosing on the keyboard. locker stay off after sale is made. until the owner reset the password input and fill it in again. it needed to be chosen what hardware to be used so all lockers can be opened. based on available pins need some kind of extender to be done... we need a version for 10 relays but also with 50 relays ... can be different hardware setting.
