Arduino/Pi Weigand Access Control
Budget: $8 – $15 CAD
We are looking to create an access control keypad device that can receive credentials, check them against a MySQL database (to see if they exist), and then check to see if a few other variables/strings are met (access hours, access zone, is access suspended, etc.)
Our thought is to use a Arduino board with a 4 line LCD display (for providing response/prompts to users), and a Weigand keypad (for accepting codes). These would be connected to a raspberry pi to act as an interface capable of networking and communicating to the primary MySQL database server.
