Arduino Speedometer/Odometer Stepper Motor Project
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I want to make an Arduino driven speedometer. I will need the programming and parts list along with detailed instructions on getting it up and running. The speedometer should include the following features:
1. The Arduino should drive a stepper motor that will move the speedometer needle smoothly across the range ~270 degrees. (range should be easily programmable)
- Input will be based on a standard GM VSS output.
2. The Arduino should drive two separate displays to simulate a mechanical odometer and trip odometer.
- Odometer should be 6 digits. White numbers on black tumblers.
- Trip odometer should be able to be reset to zero with pushbutton
- Trip odometer should be 4 digits (3 full mile tumblers and 1 1/10 mile tumbler. White numbers on black tumbler for full mile and white numbers on red tumbler for 1/10 mile.
