Create AutoCAD Custom Annotative Dynamic Block in AutoCAD

Dynamic Block
- Attributes
o Outlet_Type
 Single character text within the symbol
 Text always horizontal
o Outlet_ID
 Multiline text associated with the symbol
 Text always horizontal
 Background mask with drawing background color, offset 1.05
 Text always renders at 3/32” in paper space
 Block rotation 0° or 180° (vertical orientation)
• Center of text aligned to center of top/bottom of triangle
 Block rotation 90° or 270° (horizontal orientation)
• If one or two lines of text
o Aligned within the top/bottom boundaries of the triangle
• More than two lines of text
o Line from bottom of ID text to midpoint on edge of triangle
o Default alignment has the bottom line of text aligned to 5% above the bottom corner of the triangle
 Orthogonal rotation
• Text moves away from triangle. Minimum distance 1/64” between edge of block and edge of text
• Grip allows for rotation from perpendicular
 Stretch-able location of cable ID
• Grip at insertion point of ID text
• When the grip moves away from the default location
o Line between symbol and text becomes visible
o Line around text becomes visible
 Automatic overlap protection
• ID attributes shift if necessary to avoid overlap with other ID attributes.
o 0 up
o 180 down
o 90 left / up (text looks like multiple lines)
o 270 right / down (text looks like multiple lines)
• Box around text and line from bottom of ID text to midpoint on edge of triangle
- Annotative
o Triangle block always renders to ¼” along the long edge
o TAG always renders to 3/32” h
o Cable ID renders to 3/32” if one line, 1/16” if more than one line this might change
o Attributes use a mono-spaced font
