Project Support for Container Homes
I am seeking an experienced designer or planner to assist with siting configurations, redesigns, and
compliance planning for my container-based housing projects in Victoria, Australia.
The work includes: - Preparing siting and set-out plans for subdivided residential blocks (approx.
600 m², later split into ~302 m²). - Reworking designs to maximise privacy, solar orientation,
access, and SPOS (Secluded Private Open Space) areas. - Adapting plans for both primary
dwellings and secondary dwellings (up to 60 m² granny flats under Victorian regulations). -
Integrating subdivision plans, contours, setbacks, and ResCode / NCC compliance. - Allowing for
staged construction (e.g. building a granny flat first before subdivision approval, then primary
dwelling). - Producing diagrams showing dual frontage realities, driveways, SPOS, and landscaping
options. - Ensuring designs align with small-lot planning codes and ResCode (Clauses 54 & 55). -
Providing advice on fencing, garden planning, and minimising overlooking. - Finalising redesigns to
support building surveyor approval and planning permits.
What I’ll Provide: - Subdivision plans and contour surveys. - CAD drawings for the two base building
types (granny flat ≤ 60 m² and container home). - Planning context and project objectives.
What I’m Looking For: - Strong background in architecture, drafting, or urban planning. - Familiarity
with Victorian planning rules (ResCode, NCC Class 1A, secondary dwelling rules). - Ability to
clearly present siting diagrams and design iterations. - Good communication and willingness to
refine options with me.
Deliverables: - Siting and layout plans for multiple subdivision and building scenarios. - Redesign
proposals that balance compliance, liveability, and construction practicality. - Support in developing
the final project layout for council and surveyor submission.
Additional Notes: This is not just a one-off drawing job. I am looking for someone who can work with
me through the redesign and approval process, ensuring the project gets to build-ready stage.
