Coffee Roastery Mezzanine Design

Job ID: 40363452

Budget: $250 – $750 CAD

I’m relocating my small-batch coffee roasting operation into a 2,100 sq ft industrial unit that offers a generous 30 ft clear height, and I want to take full advantage of that vertical space by adding a mezzanine. The upper level will be the heart of production—a coffee-roaster processing plant that must safely accommodate my 30 kg drum roaster, green-bean silos, chaff collection and all ancillary ventilation and electrical runs. Alongside the roasting area I need a compact suite of private offices where two people can work comfortably without being overwhelmed by the heat, noise or smoke of the roast cycle.

Below the mezzanine I’m considering an espresso bar and display shelving for my six signature blends, so clear sightlines, customer flow and headroom under the structure matter. Because of the roaster’s weight and vibration I’ll rely on you for accurate load calculations, material specs and any fire-safety or code references needed for permitting.

What I need from you:
• Concept layouts showing mezzanine footprint, stair placement and office partitioning
• Structural drawings and load schedules suitable for a local engineer and the city permit desk
• Ventilation, exhaust and make-up air recommendations for the 30 ft ceiling height
• Electrical and gas connection locations for the 30 kg roaster and silos
• 3D visuals or renders that help me visualise workflow and customer experience

If you’ve designed mezzanines for food or beverage production—or anything with heavy, heat-generating equipment—your insight will be invaluable. My priority is a practical, code-compliant build that keeps the roast team efficient, the offices quiet, and the ground-floor café inviting.
