Hourly on-call Architectural Conceptual Site Plan Renderings

Job ID: 34082213

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

DignityMoves builds “tiny home” communities on vacant parking lots to provide interim supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness. When we find a potential vacant parcel of land, we need to produce a quick mock-up and “fit test” showing how many housing units and other amenities can potentially be placed on the site. These conceptual renderings will not be actual architectural drawings, they are for conversational purposes only while we discuss the proposed project with the local cities and community partners. They need to be proportionately accurate and also visually attractive.

We will provide the details of the site as well as the dimensions of the various modular units we use and other standard community requirements (case manager offices, bathrooms, community spaces). The plots where we plan communities are often abnormal shapes and have unique water and electricity requirements, providing an extra challenge.

DignityMoves is unique in its ability to respond to housing requests quickly. This position requires quick turnaround so that we move forward as quickly as possible. Fit test drawings will be expected within 72 hours of request. Lack of housing is an emergency, and we treat it as such.

This position requires creative and graphic art skills as well as a basic understanding of architectural concepts and site plans.

Skills required: Competency in architectural design as well as visual/graphic design and related software.

PAY AND BENEFITS

Compensation will be negotiated as an hourly rate, and hours will be on-call as needed; Rough estimate is an average of 10 hours per month.
Health insurance and other benefits are not included.

ABOUT US

DignityMoves is an innovative new nonprofit that works to end unsheltered street homelessness in our communities by building Interim Supportive Housing with rapid, cost-effective, scalable solutions. We serve as the nonprofit developer coordinating all aspects of project delivery from identifying appropriate land, securing the funding (philanthropy and government funds), partnering with local jurisdictions and supportive services agencies, and coordinating permitting and construction.

DignityMoves’ housing is distinct from other shelters in that everyone gets their own room, with a door that locks. We believe that this privacy and dignity is a fundamental differentiator that entices people to leave the encampments and thus receive the critical intensive supportive services that will help them achieve their goals and return to stability.
