Eco-Resort Design for Qatari Farm
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I own a 50 × 50 m plot just outside Doha and want to transform it into a small, family-oriented resort that feels like a private retreat. The heart of the project is a 450 m² main building whose room layout we will define together later, but I’d like you to shape both its interiors and the surrounding grounds from day one so everything works as a seamless, eco-friendly whole.
Key goals
• Embrace an eco-friendly aesthetic throughout.
• Integrate roof-mounted solar panels sized to meet most of the compound’s energy demand.
• Design for extreme summer temperatures that often climb to 45-50 °C, using passive cooling strategies, generous shading, insulated materials and heat-tolerant planting.
• Create three distinct outdoor experiences: a shaded swimming pool, a lush yet water-wise garden area and a safe, engaging playground.
What I’m looking for
I need someone who can take the project from concept sketches through to detailed drawings and mood boards for both architecture and landscape. Experience with hot-climate design, sustainable material selection and low-maintenance planting palettes is essential. I’m happy to collaborate closely on room functions and finishes once the overall concept is approved.
Deliverables
1. Master plan showing building footprint, pool, garden and playground layout.
2. Conceptual floor plan and façade studies for the 450 m² building.
3. Landscape plan with planting schedule and irrigation strategy.
4. Solar integration diagram and basic load estimate.
5. 3D visualisations (static renders or walkthrough) illustrating the daytime and night-time ambience.
6. Material and fixture palettes highlighting locally available, sustainable options.
7. A brief implementation guideline to help local contractors understand the design intent.
If this scope aligns with your skills in interior architecture, landscape design and sustainable solutions, I’d love to see relevant portfolio pieces and discuss timelines.
