I’m ready to add a classic farmer’s porch to the front of my two-story colonial and need a professional who can take the project from concept through completion. I’d like a full-width porch (exact span to be confirmed on site) tied cleanly into the existing façade and roofline, finished with a traditional gable roof that complements the house’s current pitch and overhangs.

For the walking surface, I prefer low-maintenance composite decking that still delivers a natural wood look. The porch will sit on proper frost-protected footings and be trimmed out with sturdy wooden columns—squared or turned, whichever best suits the colonial style—capable of carrying the roof load while giving the space the welcoming, period-correct feel I’m after.

Local code compliance, permitting, and safe structural connection to the existing framing are mandatory. I’d also like coordination on lighting, railing style, and any necessary stairs so the final structure looks original to the house.
