Music College Concept Design & ArchiCAD
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Project Title: Architectural Concept Design & ArchiCAD Modeling – Music College in Historical Context
Project Overview
I am looking for a talented freelance architect or designer to finalize an architectural project at the Schematic Design level. The project involves a Music College located in a historic Central European city, characterized by Baroque, two-story row houses. The site is a "through-plot" connecting two streets, situated directly opposite a synagogue.
The goal is to develop a compelling, flow-oriented concept that emphasizes freedom, nature, and transparency, while respecting the historical urban fabric.
Program Requirements (Approx. 600 m² Total)
Residential (300 m²): A 4-story (G+3) "quiet" block featuring "capsule hotel" style student rooms to maximize space efficiency.
Public/Social (200 m²): Located on the synagogue-facing street. Includes a 120 m² Music Café on the ground floor with a central void looking down into a basement-level performance space.
Educational/Practice (100 m²): Practice rooms (10 m² and 20 m² sizes) and 3 flexible lecture halls on the upper floor that can be partitioned or left as an open, flowing space.
Key Architectural Concepts
Urban Integration: The surrounding historical buildings have a parapet height of approximately 10 meters. The ground floors of both new blocks should be roughly 4 meters high.
The "Floating Roof": A signature roof motif should span the site, connecting the two separate blocks and providing a covered passage between the two streets.
Spatial Philosophy: The design must prioritize the "flow of spaces," giving area back to nature and minimizing the obstruction of views. It should feel light and modern despite the dense historical surroundings.
Scope of Work
ArchiCAD Model: A clean, well-structured 3D model of the concept.
Line Drawings: Floor plans, sections, and elevations at a schematic level.
Conceptual Refinement: Enhancing the "floating" connection and the visual link between the café and the underground stage.
Deliverables
Native ArchiCAD file (.pln).
PDF set of architectural line drawings.
Basic 3D views/massing studies to demonstrate the concept.
Ideal Candidate
Proficient in ArchiCAD.
Strong background in conceptual architectural design and urban contextualism.
Experience with "infill" projects in historical European settings is a plus.
Creative thinker who can balance "capsule" efficiency with "flowing" public spaces.
