Helicopter Route Terrain & Obstacle Analysis with Safe Altitude Determination

Project Description
I require a comprehensive terrain and obstacle assessment along a defined helicopter route to determine the minimum safe altitude (MSA). The analysis should consider all terrain features and man-made obstacles within a specified flight corridor.
Route Parameters:
• Point A: N21.689720, E39.206390
• Point B: N21.419140, E39.824242
• Corridor Width: 0.5 NM (centerline corridor on both sides)
Scope of Work
1. Route Profiling:
• Generate a longitudinal and lateral terrain profile along the defined corridor.
• Use high-resolution elevation data (e.g., SRTM 1-arc, ALOS, or higher).
2. Obstacle Identification:
• Detect and catalog all obstacles within the corridor (e.g., powerlines, poles, towers, buildings).
• Include each obstacle’s geographic coordinates, elevation AMSL, and height AGL.
3. Deliverables:
• GIS/KML file displaying the route, terrain, and obstacle overlays.
• Tabulated obstacle database (CSV or Excel) with coordinates, heights, and descriptions.
• Summary report with graphical route profile and calculated safe altitudes.
Preferred Expertise
• Experience with aviation GIS, terrain and obstacle analysis, or aeronautical charting.
• Familiarity with ICAO Annex 15, DO-272/276 standards, or helicopter route planning procedures.
• Proficiency in tools such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, or ENR route modeling software.
