Custom Widget for Web AppBuilder: Archaeological Data Download
1. Project Overview
We require a custom widget for Web AppBuilder to be deployed on ArcGIS Enterprise Portal (version 10.9.1). The widget will allow users to download archaeological data from a Feature Service hosted within our ArcGIS environment.
2. Functional Requirements
2.1 General Features
- The widget should integrate seamlessly with Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1.
- It must allow users to select a dataset from available layers in the map.
- Users should be able to apply filters (e.g., by geographic area, time period, category) before downloading data.
- Provide multiple export formats, including:
- CSV (tabular data export)
- Shapefile (SHP) (for GIS analysis)
- GeoJSON (for web applications and API integration)
- File Geodatabase (FGDB) (optional, for preserving complex geometries)
- A download button should generate and allow the user to retrieve the file.
2.2 Backend Functionality
- The widget should use ArcGIS REST API or a GP Service (if needed) to process and export the selected data.
- Ensure support for large datasets, possibly by:
- Handling large exports in batches
- Providing a progress bar or status message while the data is being processed
- The solution should respect ArcGIS Enterprise user authentication and permissions, ensuring that users only download data they have access to.

- Technology Stack:
- JavaScript (for Web AppBuilder integration)
- ArcGIS API for JavaScript (for interfacing with ArcGIS services)
