Create Historical Overlay Map for Tobias Dubronner Survey (Freestone County, Texas)
Budget: $100 – $350 USD
Description:
I am seeking an experienced GIS specialist, cartographer, or land survey mapping professional to create an overlay map for historical land research.
Project Details:
Base survey: Tobias Dubronner Survey, Freestone County, Texas.
I have historical survey maps, tract descriptions, and deed records (late 1800s–early 1900s).
Goal: create a modern overlay aligning the historical survey boundaries with current parcel maps (county GIS).
Deliverables:
Digital overlay (ArcGIS, QGIS, or Google Earth compatible).
Clear tract labeling (acreage + family names when available).
Final files in PDF/PNG for presentation + GIS file format for analysis.
Requirements:
Experience with Texas land surveys, abstracts, and GIS mapping preferred.
Ability to work from scanned deeds, legal descriptions, and historical maps.
Strong communication & accuracy in aligning historic + modern data.
Budget/Timeline:
Please provide estimated cost and turnaround time.
This is a historical/genealogical research project, not a legal survey.
To Apply:
Share examples of overlay maps or survey/GIS mapping work you’ve completed.
Confirm familiarity with Texas land surveys or similar historical mapping.
