ArcGIS Pro Map Series Fix

Job ID: 39818022

Budget: $25 – $50 AUD

I’m working in ArcGIS Pro 3.3.5 on a map series that contains two map frames. The secondary frame responds perfectly to the index layer, but the main map frame refuses to update its extent when the index field changes. My project already incorporates several custom Python scripts, so the solution may touch both configuration settings and a bit of code.

Here’s what I need from you:

• Jump on a quick Microsoft Teams screen-share so you can see the behaviour in real time and guide me step-by-step.
• Diagnose why the map frame is ignoring the index field—whether that’s a layer property, broken field reference, script conflict, or something deeper in the layout rules.
• Adjust or rewrite any relevant Python snippets and explain the fix so I can reproduce it later. Clean, commented code is essential.
• Verify that cycling through the index layer now refreshes the main map frame extent without manual intervention.

Once the extent updates reliably, the job is done. If we uncover any knock-on issues during the session, I’m happy to scope those as a separate task. Let’s get this working smoothly so I can export my map book without babysitting every page change.
