Set Appointments for Large Group Event Planning
Budget: $2 – $10 USD
I am looking for someone to call businesses in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Green Bay, Wisconsin markets (lists provided via Data Axle/Sales Genie), find out who plans the company's corporate events (team building outings, quarterly awards ceremonies, yearly banquets, company picnics, etc) and schedule an appointment for the corporate event planner to speak with me about hosting their event at our 20,000 square foot venue loaded with a variety of sports themed games, a conference room, bar, and kitchen.
This will require a warm, pleasant speaking voice, fluent English (accents are fine if they're easy to understand), preferably a fun personality that is passionate about football and basketball or fun, generally. You will basically only be asking questions. I don't really expect a sales pitch here. We have a one of a kind service offering that sounds fun and exciting as is (Football Bowling, Basketball Connect-4, and Bags aka Cornhole are the main games for now with more coming soon). There are only 4 companies in the United States attempting the same and we intend to be the fastest to expand to multiple locations nationally.
You will simply be asking questions in an extremely friendly way, the "script," so to speak would flow something like this:
"Hi, Jane, this is Kelly with First and Bowl in Green Bay. I was hoping you could help me figure out who plans all your company's events like Holiday Parties or Team Building Outings?"
As long as you're warm and professional, address the gatekeeper by name in a respectful tone, they will usually answer your question. If they don't know, then you would ask to be transferred to someone who would know and repeat the opening. If she tells you the answer then:
"Great! May I speak with Miss/Mister Johnson?"
Once you get to the event planner:
"Hi, Miss Johnson, this is Kelly with First and Bowl in Green Bay. Jane told me you help all your company's biggest events and I want to introduce you to First and Bowl, Green Bay's first and only football bowling sportsbar with over 20,000 square feet of space and the ability to cater to up to 345 people at once. Would you like to set up a time to discuss potentially hosting your next event with us?"
That's it. Easy peasy. When Miss Johnson says yes, you ask her what time she would like to be called by your Director and ask for a backup date and time for the Director to call her if the first date and time doesn't work out. The above doesn't need to be the exact way you go about it if you have a lot of appointment setting experience, but it's a good start.
This will be paid on a commission basis to start, basically 1% of all revenue generated from appointments that eventually lead to a non-refundable reservation deposit being paid by the event planner. That 1% would get you anywhere between $5 and $275 for every appointment that turns into a sale eventually.
If you are making 100 dials per day, I do believe 20 appointments per day is eventually attainable with persistence. Out of those 20 appointments per day, I am confident at least 3 turn into a sale eventually. This is the kind of thing that can take months to go from initial discussion to deposit paid to event execution. Because that is the case, if I am satisfied with performance during the early stages, I would be more than happy to move to an hourly base pay plus commission for a long term business relationship.
