Appointment Setter - Outbound Sales (Phone-Based) | Marketing Agency
Budget: $2 – $8 CAD
This is a phone job. Your day is making outbound calls, talking to business owners, and booking qualified appointments onto our calendar. If you don't enjoy being on the phone, this isn't the role - please don't apply.
We're a growing marketing agency (ad management with a sales-results focus). The deals are closed by an experienced, professional closer - the founder worked as a full-time sales closer before starting this agency, so the appointments you book land in capable hands. Your job is to fill the pipeline: find prospects, call them, and book qualified appointments. You book it, a strong closer takes it home - which is exactly how your bonuses get paid. Do this well and there's real room to grow.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
- Research and source your own prospect leads (business owners who could use ad management).
- Call them. Open a real conversation, qualify the fit, and book an appointment.
- Track your outreach and booked calls simply so we can see what's working.
- Hustle. This role rewards activity and initiative, not waiting for a list to be handed to you.
You are NOT closing sales, managing client accounts, or writing reports. We have people for that. You set the appointments; a proven closer closes them.
THE FIRST 5 DAYS: A PAID PROVING PERIOD
We hire setters who can prove they can do the work, fast.
- You'll start on a short paid trial at the base hourly rate below.
- The bar: source your own leads and book 1-3 qualified appointments within your first 5 days.
- Hit it, and we invest in you - we'll provide warm lead lists, training, and steady ongoing hours.
This is paid work from day one. We're not asking for free spec work - we're asking you to show us, on the clock, that you can hunt.
PAY
- Base: $2-3/hr (depending on experience), paid for all hours worked, including the trial.
- Bonus: $200 for every new retainer-level client you booked that gets closed.
So your hourly covers the work you control (the calls and the bookings), and the $200 bonus is your upside when a meeting you set turns into a client. The harder and smarter you hunt, the more you earn.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Comfortable and confident on the phone - this is non-negotiable.
- Outbound sales / appointment-setting / cold-calling experience, ideally B2B.
- A self-starter who can find their own leads and doesn't need hand-holding to get moving.
- Able to frame a conversation around results and outcomes for the prospect, not just "we run ads."
- Reliable, trackable, and honest about your numbers.
DETAILS
- Part-time to start (20 hrs/week), with more hours for the right person after the trial period
- Flexible schedule, Vancouver time zone (Mon-Fri).
- Remote.
TO APPLY - ANSWER THESE TWO QUESTIONS (applications without them are ignored):
1. In 3-4 sentences, walk me through how you'd open a cold call to a business owner and get them to agree to a meeting. I want to hear your actual approach and how you'd frame the value - not a generic pitch.
2. How do you feel about spending most of your day on the phone making outbound calls? Be honest.
Also include a one-line summary of your outbound/appointment-setting experience.
