Connect quadcopter and controller

I have an interesting crowdfunded quadcopter that was supposed to come with a 5-kilometer controller...but no one got the controller (the drone is therefore controlled by phone app; rang about 1/2 km). The company moved on to their next product, a camera-equipped helicopter which used the same controller we were supposed to get. After contacting the CEO, the company sent me the controller with instructions about how to pair to my quadcopter but I've never been successful in pairing them, so I'm limited to using the phone app with the drone. I'm looking for a programmer who can pair the two devices so I can use the drone.
