Zerodha Historical Data Fetch Script

I need a small, clean piece of code that connects to Zerodha’s Kite Connect API and fetches market data only—specifically historical data for stocks. No trade execution or account queries are required.

What matters to me is that I can pass a symbol, timeframe and date range and reliably receive structured OHLCV output. A typical use case would be pulling one-minute or daily candles for several NSE equities over the past year.

Key deliverables:
• Well-commented source code that authenticates, performs the query, and returns the data in JSON or a pandas DataFrame.
• Graceful handling of pagination, rate limits and token refresh.
• A concise README showing environment setup, required packages and a runnable example.
• Proof that the script can successfully download historical data for at least two stock symbols without errors.

Feel free to choose the language you’re most comfortable with (Python is an obvious fit but I’m open). Once we agree on the approach I’ll share the API keys securely. Looking forward to your proposal and timeline.
