Xero-Driven Sales Dashboard
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
Every day we pull dozens of invoices, part-payments and settlement dates from Xero, then manually piece them together in spreadsheets so the team can see who has paid what on each building project. I want to replace that with a clean, browser-based dashboard that plugs straight into the Xero API and shows—at a glance—our total sales pipeline and where every buyer sits in the collection process.
Core data feeds
• Live invoice and payment data pulled from Xero (no exports; direct sync).
• Sales overview: total contracted value, deposits received, outstanding balance, upcoming milestones.
• Payment status: colour-coded progress bar for each customer that updates as soon as a receipt hits Xero.
User flow
Only internal staff will log in, so a simple email/password or Microsoft 365 SSO is fine. As soon as someone opens the web app they should land on an overview, then be able to drill into individual lots/units or filter by development.
Tech notes
I’m comfortable with modern stacks—React, Vue, Next.js, Laravel, Django, Firebase, you name it—as long as it’s maintainable and the Xero OAuth2 flow is handled securely. The database can mirror what Xero exposes or cache to improve load times; I’m open to your recommendation.
Deliverables
• Responsive web application deployed to our sub-domain.
• Secure connection to Xero with automatic token refresh.
• Clean UI/UX that highlights Sales overview and Payment status.
• Basic role management (read-only vs. admin) for internal staff.
• Source code and setup docs so we can run it locally or hand over to another dev if needed.
Acceptance
I’ll consider the project complete when the dashboard reliably reflects the same figures we see in Xero within five minutes of a new transaction and the team can filter, search and export a PDF or CSV of any view.
If you’ve built something similar—or have deep Xero API experience—let’s talk timelines and the best way to slice milestones.
