Shopify API Pro Needed for Catalog Revamp
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
Job Description:
We are in search of a highly skilled backend developer with expertise in Shopify and the Shopify API to oversee a significant update to our product catalog. Our company’s database includes approximately 30,000 SKUs distributed among various suppliers. The listings currently suffer from inconsistencies, including invalid or missing SKUs, duplicates, and outdated media and descriptions.
Responsibilities:
Perform a detailed audit of our existing product catalog to identify issues such as invalid or missing SKUs, duplicate SKUs or UPCs, and outdated content (images and descriptions).
Utilize the master catalogs from each supplier, which contain clean and updated information, to rectify the errors in our listings. Each listing in the master catalog is linked with its current URL or handle for precise updating.
Create a backup for each product detail page (PDP) by duplicating the existing PDP and appending the suffix "-Backup" to the handle.
Update the primary PDP listings using the accurate data from the master catalog Excel files, ensuring the product handles remain unchanged to avoid impacting our marketing efforts.
Work closely with our internal team to ensure that updates align with our operational standards and business objectives.
Provide frequent progress updates and communicate any challenges encountered, adhering strictly to the project timeline.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise as a backend developer with specific experience in Shopify and the Shopify API.
Strong proficiency in managing large product catalogs and data manipulation, with considerable experience handling extensive datasets in Excel.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to manage tasks independently and efficiently, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
Project Scope:
Immediate start required upon successful hiring.
The project is expected to take approximately 4-6 weeks, depending on the audit findings and the extent of data correction needed.
Application Requirements:
Provide examples of similar Shopify projects you have completed, particularly those involving extensive product catalog management.
Describe any specific methodologies or tools you intend to use for catalog updating and data correction.
Confirm your availability to start and your anticipated time commitment to achieve project completion.
We are eager to collaborate with a dedicated professional to streamline our product listings and enhance our operational efficiency!
