SaaS custom integrations development

Context

Dastra is a SaaS platform helping organizations manage privacy, compliance, and governance workflows. Some customers need custom integrations between Dastra and their internal tools or third-party systems, using the Dastra API.

We are looking for a freelance developer to help design, build, test, and document customer-specific integrations.

Mission Objectives

The freelancer will build reliable custom integrations that connect Dastra with customer systems such as CRMs, HR tools, ticketing platforms, document repositories, identity providers, data warehouses, or internal business applications.

The goal is to automate data flows, reduce manual work, and ensure that customer-specific compliance processes can be operated directly from or alongside Dastra.

Scope of Work

The mission may include:

Understanding the customer’s integration needs and technical environment.
Reviewing the Dastra API capabilities and identifying the best integration approach.
Designing integration workflows, data mappings, authentication flows, and error-handling logic.
Developing custom connectors, scripts, middleware, or backend services.
Integrating with third-party APIs and customer internal systems.
Implementing logging, retry mechanisms, monitoring, and basic observability.
Testing integrations with Dastra and customer environments.
Writing technical documentation for Dastra, the customer, and future maintainers.
Supporting deployment, handover, and troubleshooting during go-live.
Expected Deliverables

Depending on the project, deliverables may include:

Technical specification or integration design document.
Working integration codebase.
API mapping and data transformation documentation.
Configuration and deployment instructions.
Test plan and test results.
Runbook for support and troubleshooting.
Final handover documentation.
Required Skills

The ideal freelancer should have experience with:

REST APIs and API integration patterns.
Backend development, preferably in .NET, Node.js, Python, or similar.
Authentication methods such as OAuth2, API keys, JWT, or SSO-related flows.
Webhooks, scheduled jobs, queues, and asynchronous processing.
Data mapping, JSON transformation, and error handling.
Cloud deployment environments, ideally Azure.
Writing clean, maintainable, documented code.
Working directly with SaaS customers or technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have

Experience with one or more of the following would be a plus:

Compliance, privacy, GRC, or data governance tools.
CRM, HRIS, ITSM, or document management integrations.
Azure Functions, App Services, Service Bus, or Logic Apps.
MongoDB, SQL, or event-driven architectures.
Experience working with European B2B SaaS companies.
Collaboration

The freelancer will work with the Dastra technical team and, when needed, with customer technical contacts. The freelancer should be autonomous, proactive, and able to clarify requirements, flag risks, and propose pragmatic technical solutions.

Regular check-ins will be organized to review progress, blockers, and upcoming deliverables.
