RESTful API & Dashboard Enhancement

I need a lightweight yet robust integration between our web application and a third-party RESTful API. The service returns both JSON and XML, so your work will involve parsing either format, mapping its fields to our existing models, and returning clean, optimized responses to the frontend.

Beyond the integration itself, two areas of the site need immediate attention:

• User authentication – tighten session handling, token refresh, and error states
• Dashboard features – surface new data points from the API, refine charts/tables, and smooth out any JavaScript glitches

Expect a few minor frontend/back-end tweaks along the way—think quick JS fixes, small layout updates, and the occasional bug hunt.

Deliverables will be considered complete once:
1. API endpoints are wired up, authenticated, and returning the correct data in both JSON and XML tests.
2. Updated authentication flow passes manual and automated checks.
3. Dashboard displays the new data without performance hits or console errors.
4. All code is clean, commented, and pushed to our repo with a concise README covering setup and endpoints.
