Python Mentor for Smartsheet OCR Automation

Hello,
I am looking for a beginner-friendly mentor who can guide me step by step to build small automations in Python using the Smartsheet API.

What I want to learn and build:

How to connect to Smartsheet API (read and update rows).

How to detect when a file is uploaded to a row.

How to download attachments from Smartsheet.

How to auto-rotate files (PDFs, JPGs) to the correct side.

Correct file name that is downloaded Worker Name - File name

How to run OCR (Tesseract or another tool) to extract:

Date of birth

Nationality

Training card expiry dates

Residence permit dates

Tax card (Finland) info

How to write extracted data back into the same row in Smartsheet.

(Optional later) How to set up a webhook so this works automatically.

My background:

I am a beginner in coding (zero knowledge).

I can study and practice 2 hours per day on workdays.

I want someone patient, who can explain clearly and maybe give me small tasks.

Budget:

Please note, I am looking for the cheapest option possible.

Students, junior developers, or freelancers looking for side income are welcome.

This is a mentorship/guidance role – not full development. I want to learn while building.
