Build product information and post with API to WooCommerce and other Automated Datafeed
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I have a property selling website and I am looking to reach a solution to solve a problem such as having a web app that hold information (particulars of sale) and post it to sources through API such as WooCommerce products. The best way to provide you details at this stage would be to tell you my current process and the problem I face.
First, we store all the property particulars with organized individual folders inside our google drive. This includes photos, files and information. Currently, we were using a Google Doc for each to build the property listing information such as key details, features, descriptions, summary etc. It is mainly a comprehensive overview of the property and collaboration effort between our team members to be completed. This information in the google doc is mainly text based with a few multiple choice boxes etc.
The Problem: When all the relevant property information is complied and completed in the Google Doc. It is then a manual process, where I need to copy and paste all the details into different sources in order to populate the property listing online / live for public viewing.
For example - The first source is our own website, where we use WooCommerce and Advanced Custom Fields to showcase property as Products. The other sources are Paid thrid-party property listing directory websites. Therefore, it is a very slow boring and time-consuming manual process copying all the key information and populating it into each source individually.
In terms of a solution – I am not completely sure how to solve the problem, but I have some ideas and I think this could be broken down into separate stages or tasks.
- (No 1.) The first stage would be having a better method of building and storing the property file information, such as a Google web app instead of a basic google doc.
- (No 2.) Make an integration available suing API for the ability to post and update the property information from this location / app to the source.
I am open to ideas when it comes to building and storing the property information. It doesn’t need to be a google web app, I only suggest this because we are already using Google Drive for individual property folders and each folder currently has its own Google doc descriptions file. Just as long as it is organised and can be integrated with API.
Collecting property information at the moment is mostly simple text boxes and multiple-choice etc. However, when it comes to posting the listing then the new setup to post data to source such as website (WooCommerce product) would also need to push featured image and gallery images.
Also in terms of the paid third party property listing website, once the 'Automated Datafeed (ADF)' is setup for Real Time Data Feed then property needs to be created, updated and removed via the feed.
This is just a quick TLDR to overview the project and start the discussion together. I'm not sure what budget to set yet for this because I don't know what work and how much work is involved to achieve the desired outcome.
