Balance Sheet Automation Expert

My finance team relies on a monthly balance-sheet pack, and I want it generated at the click of a button. The core file will live in Excel (Power Query/VBA are both fine), pull data directly from our accounting software, and output a clean, GAAP-aligned balance sheet ready for presentation.

Scope of work
• Connect Excel to the accounting software’s API or export files, mapping each account to the correct line on the balance sheet.
• Build automation that refreshes all data, updates schedules, and rolls forward opening balances without manual touch-up.
• Include error-checking logic so any mapping gaps or data anomalies surface immediately.
• Add a simple assumptions tab so, if we later decide to feed in an ERP stream or a quick manual journal, the workbook can absorb it gracefully.
• Deliver clear, step-by-step documentation and a short screen-share walkthrough so future team members can maintain the file.

Acceptance criteria
• One click (or ribbon button) refresh populates the balance sheet with up-to-date figures from the accounting software.
• Calculated totals tie out to the source trial balance to the cent.
• Workbook opens with no security or macro warnings beyond what is required for signed code.
• All code and queries are unlocked or include passwords provided to us.
