Automate Shopify Variant Images

My Shopify clothing store carries each style in multiple colors, and right now my team still drags every single image onto the correct variant by hand. That approach is chewing up hours every week and I’m ready to replace it with something smarter.

I’m looking for a solution that automatically recognises, matches and publishes the correct product photos to each colour variant as soon as we upload them—whether that’s via the Shopify API, a custom Liquid + JavaScript snippet, a well-chosen app you can configure for me, or a lightweight middleware script that watches an S3 bucket and pushes the assets in. I’m open to whichever method gets the job done accurately and keeps day-to-day maintenance minimal.

For acceptance I’ll need:
• A repeatable workflow (documented) that links new images to the right colour variants without manual sorting.
• A short Loom or written walkthrough so my staff understand how to trigger or monitor the process.
• One live product with at least three colour variants updated during hand-over to prove everything works.
