Overview:
We are seeking an experienced developer to integrate an automated WhatsApp alerting system with our existing ASP.NET web application and SQL Server database. The primary goal is to send timely WhatsApp notifications to our customers regarding upcoming document expiry dates.

Problem Statement:
Our current system stores various document expiry dates for a large number of customers. We need to automate the process of notifying these customers about their approaching document expiries to ensure they renew on time and to enhance our customer service. Manual notification is no longer efficient.

Core Requirement:
Develop and implement a solution that automatically sends WhatsApp alert messages to our clients' customers 30 days prior to a document's expiry date. The alerts must be sent from our client's registered WhatsApp Business API number (or equivalent, if a different method is more suitable and scalable).

Technical Environment:

Existing Application: Developed in ASP.NET (please specify version if known, e.g., .NET Framework 4.8 or .NET Core 6/7).

Database: SQL Server (please specify version if known, e.g., SQL Server 2019).

WhatsApp Integration: We are open to the best method for sending automated WhatsApp messages (e.g., WhatsApp Business API, a reliable third-party WhatsApp gateway provider like Twilio, MessageBird, or similar). The developer should propose and integrate a robust, scalable, and cost-effective solution.

Key Features/Functionality Required:

Database Query & Scheduling:

Develop a mechanism (e.g., a Windows Service, a scheduled task, or an application module) to query the SQL database daily (or at a configurable interval).

Identify customer documents that are due to expire in exactly 30 days from the current date.

WhatsApp Message Generation:

Dynamically generate personalized WhatsApp messages for each customer, including details such as:

Customer Name

Document Type (e.g., "Visa," "Trade License," "Passport")

Expiry Date

A clear call to action (e.g., "Please contact us to renew your [Document Type].")

Support for message templates if using WhatsApp Business API.

WhatsApp Integration & Sending:

Integrate with a chosen WhatsApp messaging API/gateway.

Send the generated alert messages reliably to the customer's registered mobile number (stored in our SQL database).

Error handling for failed messages (e.g., invalid numbers, API issues).

Logging & Reporting:

Implement basic logging to record when alerts are sent, to whom, and the status of the delivery.

Ability to view a log of sent alerts from within the existing ASP.NET application (preferred, but a separate log file is acceptable if integration is complex).

Deliverables:

Fully integrated and functional automated WhatsApp alert system.

Source code for all new components (ASP.NET code, SQL scripts, any service/scheduler code).

Deployment instructions.

Brief technical documentation (e.g., how to configure the system, troubleshooting tips).

Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience with ASP.NET development and SQL Server database management.

Demonstrable experience with API integrations, particularly messaging APIs (SMS, WhatsApp, etc.).

Strong understanding of scheduled tasks/services development.

Good communication skills and ability to provide updates.

Experience with WhatsApp Business API or similar third-party WhatsApp solutions is a significant plus.
