Web Application QA Automation Engineer Required
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
UI & API Automation Testing for Web Application
Project Overview:
We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer to develop and execute automated tests for both UI and API components of our web application. The goal is to improve testing efficiency, increase test coverage, and ensure high product quality through automation.
Scope of Work:
1. UI Automation Testing
Automate regression test cases for our web application.
Identify test cases suitable for automation and create a robust automation test suite.
Ensure cross-browser compatibility (Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
Implement element locators using best practices (XPath, CSS selectors, data-testid).
Automate form validations, user login/logout, navigation flows, modals, and dynamic UI components.
Integrate UI automation into CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
2. API Automation Testing
Test all RESTful API endpoints: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE.
Validate authentication mechanisms (e.g., token-based auth, OAuth2 if applicable).
Test request/response payloads, status codes, error handling, and response time.
Automate API regression scenarios.
Set up data-driven testing for dynamic payloads and parameter variations.
Generate API test reports (e.g., Allure, Extent, or custom reporting).
3. Automation Framework
Build or enhance an existing test automation framework (modular, maintainable, and scalable).
Use any of the following tools/technologies (or propose your own):
UI: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright
API: Postman (with Newman), REST Assured, Karate, or similar
Languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java (depending on chosen framework)
Implement Page Object Model (POM) or other suitable design patterns.
4. CI/CD Integration
Setup test execution in CI tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Configure pipelines for nightly or pull-request-based automation runs.
Provide test reports and logs after each build.
Deliverables:
Documented Test Strategy & Plan
Source code for UI & API automation tests (GitHub/Bitbucket repo)
Setup documentation for running tests locally and in CI
Final automation report with execution summary
Knowledge transfer session/demo walkthrough
Preferred Tools & Technologies:
(We are open to suggestions, but prefer the following)
UI Automation: Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
API Testing: Postman, REST Assured, or Karate
Language: JavaScript, Python, or Java
CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins
Reporting: Allure, Extent Reports, or similar
Project Timeline:
Estimated Duration: 2 to 4 weeks
Expected Start: [Insert Start Date]
Availability: Must be available for weekly sync meetings and progress updates
Requirements:
Proven experience in UI and API automation testing
Experience with building and maintaining test automation frameworks
Strong understanding of QA methodologies and SDLC
Good communication and documentation skills
Test Project (Optional but Preferred):
We may give a small paid sample task to evaluate your automation capabilities before awarding the full project.
