QA Engineer for SaaS Platform - API Testing & Automation
Budget: $2 – $8 USD
We're building a fast-growing SaaS marketplace platform and need an experienced QA Engineer to own our quality practices from the ground up. This isn't just ticket triage - you'll be building our entire testing strategy.
What You'll Own:
• API Testing: Deep testing of REST/JSON APIs as behavior contracts, not just endpoints. Gray-box and white-box level testing with proper error handling validation
• Test Automation: Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright-style and Pytest-style frameworks. Debug CI failures and maintain test pyramid architecture
• Performance Testing: Load and stress testing using JMeter, k6, or similar tools. Interpret results and identify system breaking points
• CI/CD Integration: Wire tests into GitLab CI or GitHub Actions pipelines
• Test Strategy: Design test coverage from requirements, build test management systems from scratch
Requirements:
• 2+ years test automation experience with Playwright, Pytest, or equivalent
• Strong API testing experience (Python, Postman, JMeter, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools (LLM-based test generation, anomaly detection)
• Performance testing experience with JMeter, NeoLoad, LoadRunner, or k6
• GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions experience
• Docker proficiency for containerized test environments
• Experience building Test Management Systems is a strong plus

This is an hourly position working with a distributed team. You'll work directly with our backend lead and have real input into how features are built and shipped. We're looking for someone who thinks of testing as a discipline and wants to shape our quality practices.
