Taxi App Map Navigation Integration

Job ID: 40381191

Budget: $30 – $250 NZD

I’m enhancing my existing ride-hailing application and now need a Google Maps or Mapbox specialist to embed real-time, turn-by-turn navigation directly inside both the driver and passenger interfaces.

The core requirement is simple: reliable navigation routes must appear in-app the moment a trip is created, update live as the vehicle moves, and automatically recalculate if the driver leaves the suggested path. I already handle trip creation, fare logic and user authentication; what’s missing is the seamless mapping layer that ties it all together.

Key points you’ll tackle
• Native navigation routes surfaced for drivers and mirrored (read-only) for passengers
• Smooth hand-off from my current pickup / drop-off coordinates into Google Maps SDK or Mapbox Navigation SDK without forcing users into an external app
• Support for future options like shortest route, toll avoidance or multi-stop legs, so design with extensibility in mind
• Clear, well-documented code plus any required API keys or configuration notes so I can replicate the setup in staging and production

Acceptance criteria
1. Starting a ride instantly displays a guidance screen in both roles (driver interactive, passenger view-only)
2. Rerouting works in under two seconds when deviating by 50 m or more
3. No crashes or memory leaks after a 60-minute continuous drive session, tested on Android 12 and iOS 16
4. Build and setup instructions reproducible by another developer from a clean repo

If you have prior examples of embedded navigation in mobility or logistics apps, that will move us forward quickly. Let’s connect and get this mapping piece live.
