Building a WordPress plugin for semantic internal linking using AI embeddings and MySQL 8.1 VECTOR storage. This is NOT a keyword-based tool - it understands context to suggest relevant links between articles.
What makes this different: I have everything prepared - complete brief with UI diagrams, database schemas, code assembly strategy, and links to existing plugins you can reuse components from. You won't start from scratch.
The plugin needs:
OpenRouter API integration (embeddings)
MySQL 8.1 VECTOR similarity search
Admin metabox with suggestions + current links display
Bulk link insertion with checkboxes
Duplicate prevention and link tracking
Settings panel with API key configuration
Error logging and undo functionality
Tech stack: PHP 8.0+, MySQL 8.1 VECTOR, WordPress 6.0+, JavaScript/AJAX
Who Should Apply
Required experience:
Built WordPress plugins before (show me 2-3 actual plugins, not GitHub forks)
Comfortable with MySQL, wpdb, prepared statements
Knows WordPress security basics (nonces, sanitization, escaping)
Has worked with external APIs (REST calls, error handling)
Uses Cursor AI, Claude, or similar AI coding tools (vibe coding workflow)
Ideal candidate:
Created admin interfaces with metaboxes and AJAX
Understands vector embeddings concept (even if first time implementing)
Has Upwork/Freelancer reviews showing reliable delivery
Can work with detailed specs and adapt existing code
Red flags:

No reviews or first-time freelancer
Hasn't used AI coding assistants
Wants to rewrite everything from scratch instead of using provided resources
