MapFish Print Integration with Geospatial Platform
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Install and configure MapFish Print to generate PDF reports from PostgreSQL/PostGIS
Project description
I have a geospatial platform running on a Linux server with PostgreSQL, PostGIS and GeoServer.
I would like to install and configure MapFish Print so the system can generate PDF reports from data stored in PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
The system already allows filtering a record in a table and displaying the related geometry on a map. Based on that selected record, I need to generate a structured PDF report.
The report should include a cover section, some attribute fields from the database, a small table with indicators and a map showing the geometry.
The PDF should be generated from parameters sent to MapFish, not just a screenshot of the map.
Tasks
Install MapFish Print v3 on the server (Docker is preferred).
Configure it to connect to GeoServer layers.
Create a basic report template (JRXML or similar).
Configure the service to receive parameters such as record_id, geometry and attributes.
Generate a PDF report that includes the map and attribute tables.
Provide an example JSON request to generate the report.
Provide basic documentation of the setup.
Deliverables
Working MapFish Print installation
One working PDF report template
Example request to generate a report
Short documentation of the setup
Skills
MapFish Print
GeoServer
PostgreSQL / PostGIS
Docker
JasperReports
Estimated duration: about 1–2 days of work.
