Joomla API Integration Specialist

Job ID: 40502890

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I have a Joomla-based site that already runs on a custom template and a handful of home-grown extensions. What I now need is seamless integration of several third-party APIs so the platform can pull live data, display it cleanly, and store what is necessary in MySQL without slowing anything down.

Here is the current landscape: the site is built on Joomla 4, uses a Bootstrap-driven responsive layout, and follows standard MVC structure for components. PHP 8.2, MySQL 8, and a VPS environment with root access are in place. I have API keys and sandbox credentials ready; the documentation for each service is clear, but wiring everything together—models, controllers, caching, error handling, and front-end rendering—needs an experienced hand.

What I need from you
• Build or adjust a Joomla component or plugin that authenticates, fetches, and displays data from the specified APIs.
• Respect Joomla’s native event system so future core updates remain trouble-free.
• Keep page load times lean by using proper caching, lazy loading where relevant, and clean SQL queries.
• Deliver code that passes Joomla coding standards and is fully namespaced.
• Provide a brief hand-off document outlining installation, configuration, and any cron jobs or webhooks you set up.

Acceptance criteria
1. Data from each API loads on the front-end module without console or PHP errors.
2. GTmetrix or Lighthouse scores remain in the green (80+).
3. No security warnings from Akeeba Admin Tools scan.
4. All custom code lives in a dedicated component/plugin and survives a core Joomla update test on a staging clone.

If you are comfortable with PHP, Joomla MVC, JavaScript, and understand how to squeeze the best performance out of Curl or Guzzle calls, let’s talk. I can give you SSH and Super User access on a staging site as soon as we agree on milestones.
